1. Understand Your Event Requirements

Before anything else, review the official Texas event guidelines. Know the rules, time limits, scoring criteria, and materials you must bring. This prevents last minute surprises and ensures you’re competing correctly.

2. Build a Consistent Practice Schedule

To be set up for success, start practicing now getting an early start gives you more time to
strengthen your skills and feel confident going into competition.

3. If Your Event Requires a Submission

Double-check all required documents, formats, and deadlines. Upload your work ahead of time, review the rubric, and make sure everything is labeled correctly to avoid last-minute issues.

4. Reach Out When You Need Support

5. Make Sure You Have the Proper Attire

Review the dress code for your event to ensure you have the required uniform. Also check the official HOSA guidelines for your HOSA uniforms
