HOSA’s National Service Project, NMDP is a nonprofit organization focused on giving patients with life-threatening blood cancers and disorders a second chance at life. Through education, donations, and donor registry, NMDP works to connect committed stem cell donors with patients in need of transplants. By supporting NMDP, HOSA members help grow the donor registry, spread awareness about the importance of diversity in stem-cell matches, and empower their communities to save lives—one swab and one story at a time.
Creating an NMDP team page and establishing a chapter presence offers HOSA members a powerful way to make a lasting impact. With a team page, your chapter can easily track how many potential donors you’ve added to the registry, how much money you’ve raised, and highlight your accomplishments. Also, every NMDP activity from hosting swab events to running educational booths can count toward volunteer hours. All of these can earn your chapter points which will allow for NMDP to give back to you. For more information on how your chapter can benefit from NMDP, visit this page.
