FLC RECAP

The HOSA Area 7 Fall Leadership Conference, held October 25th at McAllen High School,  empowered members to bring the theme “Believe to Become” to life through MRC training, hands-on emergency simulations,  nteractive games, and collaborative creative workshops that strengthened  leadership, confidence, and healthcare skills.

TIPS TO REMEMBER

  • Small daily study sessions are better than cramming the week before.
  • Sleep well the night before!
  • Try our hardest and don’t panic if you mess up.

NMDP Spotlight

Congratulations to Kingwood High School for raising the most money in our Fall Leadership Conference NMDP Fundraiser, “Sip for Six-cess”. With their help, we were able to raise over $1000 for NMDP!corper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Tests for competitions, the Healthcare Issues Exam, and the Texas Officer Candidate Exam are administered. Results posted 11/21.

January 12, 2026
Round 1 Uploads due for some competitions and Recognition Events. Registration due for SLC.

Keynote speakers, activities, workshops, and the final rounds of competition.

Fall Leadership Conference

On September 27, HOSA members from all over Area 6 gathered at Atascocita High School for the 2025 Fall Leadership Conference. Participants had the opportunity to hear a riveting keynote speech, and attend breakout sessions, as well as participate in a highly successful fundraiser benefitting HOSA’s premier service project, NMDP. 

Additionally, chapters showed off their school and Area 6 spirit at our exciting opening and closing sessions. We can’t wait to see everyone again at our Spring Leadership Conference, at Dayton High School.

Spirit Stick Winners- Dobie HOSA

Congratulations to Dobie HOSA for winning the highly coveted FLC Spirit Stick! They showed great positivity and camaraderie throughout the entire conference. For a chance to win the Spirit Stick at SLC, be sure to wear your Area 6 pink gear and show lots of spirit all around the conference!

Running For Office

Complete details on the election process can be found in Section E of the Texas HOSA Handbook. TexasHOSA.org/handbooks

Step 1- Texas Officer Candidate Exam

This test consists of questions about the structure and history of Texas HOSA, as well as parlimentary procedure. It is administered during Online Testing, and results are posted on November 21.

Step 2- Online Officer Application

This will help the nominating comittee get to know you inside and outside of HOSA. The application includes a 2 minute video introducing yourself to the comittee.

Step 3- Interview with the nominating committee

You will prepare a 1 minute introductory speech, and then conduct an interview. This will help the committee learn more about you, both inside and outside of HOSA.

Step 4- Speechless

During the business session, nominated candidates will deliver speeches to voting delegates from chapters across the area.

Elected officers will be announced at the closing ceremony of the Spring Leadership Conference. Good Luck

 

Chapter Spotlight

Kingswood Park High School

Inspired by David James’ keynote speech at the Fall Leadership Conference, Kingwood Park HOSA hosted a service event benefiting the Peyton Heart Project. They made hearts to spread around the community, which helps to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. They hope that the hearts spread joy and positivity around their school and community.

Recap of FLC:

On September 27, Area 5 held its annual FLC conference at Brownwood High School. During the conference members did activities such as: Lesson in Wrapping (Athletic training), Dementia Awareness, Physical Therapy Skills, Leadership Games with the very own Area 5 Officers, and more! Everyone had a great time at this years conference.

Important Reminders

Online Testing

Next week from November 18-20 is online testing. Make sure that you are studying, reading you guidelines, and when in doubt if you have a question ask your advisor or refer to your guidelines! Some tips for testing: take your time, don’t rush, remember that you prepared for this moment, and get a good night’s sleep the night before the test!

Harmony Innovation

The past state conference at Kalahari Resorts, was Harmony Innovation first time attending State. While they were at State they: got to see the 3D anatomy tables that were showcased and won the jackpot at one of the arcade machines!

Joshua High School

In the past couple of months, Joshua High School had their first competitive events meeting!

SLC NMDP Fundraiser

The Area 5 team has been planning a lot to make this years Spring Leadership Conference unforgetable! A little into the planning, is our NMDP fundraiser! We will have a build-yourown popcorn bar! You will be able to customize your popcorn with M&Ms’, pretzels, and more! While your at it, make sure to play the Kahoots!

Epilepsy affects 1 out 26 people. Epilepsy is a neurological condition that affects the brain. Seizures don’t just come in the form of movement, but also vocal and light triggered. This is a condition affects a lot of people all over the globe.

Fall Leadership Conference

Hello Members!

We hope everyone had an amazing time at the 2025 Fall Leadership Conference! It was incredible seeing so many of you come together to learn, grow, and connect with fellow future health professionals. Now that we’re halfway through the year and approaching competition season, it’s the perfect time to reflect on our favorite moments and prepare for the exciting challenges ahead. HOSA Learning

During FLC, we had the honor of welcoming amazing groups like UTEP  HOSA, who hosted fun and engaging sessions for our members. From hands on  activities to inspiring discussions, each workshop brought new energy and excitement to the conference, making this year’s FLC one to remember!

Clip for a Cause!

At this year’s Fall Leadership Conference, Area 4 hosted Clip for a Cause in support of NMDP. Members decorated clothespins with uplifting messages and designs, spreading positivity while contributing to a meaningful cause. Each pin represented belief in making a difference, with all proceeds supporting patients in need of life-saving treatments. A huge shoutout to all our chapters who participated and helped make this fundraiser sucha success!

Fall Leadership Conference

The Area 3 Fall Leadership Conference on October 25 brought together HOSA members from across the region for a day of leadership, learning, and collaboration at Jack E. Singley Academy. Attendees enjoyed an inspiring keynote, interactive breakout workshops, and a meaningful fundraiser supporting NMDP. The energy throughout the conference was incredible as chapters connected, shared ideas, and showed off their Area 3 spirit. With dedicated volunteers and smooth coordination, the event offered valuable opportunities for growth and preparation for the competitive season, and we’re excited to return to Singley for an unforgettable Spring Leadership Conference.

Spirit Stick Winners:
Allen High School

A huge congratulations to Allen HOSA, who proudly took home the Spirit Stick! Their nonstop hype, teamwork, and positivity were impossible to miss. If you’re aiming for the Spirit Stick at SLC, bring your voice, your energy, and all the Area 3 pride you’ve got—Allen has set the bar high!

Jack E. Singley Academy

Jack E. Singley Academy shined as this year’s FLC host, with their dedicated Singley HOSA volunteers ensuring the event ran smoothly and everyone felt supported, and their chapter has been thriving in competitions and service—we can’t wait to see them bring that same excellence to SLC this spring!

RUNNING FOR OFFICE

Step 1:
Texas Officer Candidate Exam

Start with the Officer Candidate Exam, covering Texas HOSA’s history, structure, and parliamentary procedure. The test is taken online, and results are released on November 21.

Step 3:
Nominating Committe Process

Prepare a 1-minute intro speech and participate in an interview with the committee. This is your chance to show who you are inside and outside of HOSA and make a lasting impression.

Step 2:
Officer Applications Process

Submit your online application so the nominating committee can get to know you beyond your resume. Include a 2-minute video introducing yourself and highlighting your passions, skills, and HOSA involvement.

Step 4:
Business Session Speech

During the business session, nominated candidates present speeches to delegates from chapters across the area. Share your vision, enthusiasm, and leadership to inspire votes and support.

Elected officers will be announced at the Spring Leadership Conference closing ceremony, where you’ll take the stage as the 2026–27 TX HOSA Area 3  fficers. You will then attend HOLA at the State Leadership Conference to learn your official positions. Good luck!
